Description

This course is mainly aimed at students writing their thesis but is also suitable for staff who need to write a long document. It is designed to give an insight and hands on practice into the more advanced features of Microsoft Word that are relevant to producing substantial reports.

Target audience
  • All current Cambridge University members (departments and colleges)
  • Further details regarding eligibility criteria are available

  • This course requires that you are comfortable using Word

  • Dr Rosemary Rodd will explain:
    • What the exam boards require in your dissertation
    • How EndNote and Word can work together for referencing

Following on, at the completion of this course you should be able to:

  • Use formatting techniques to position text and paragraphs
  • Understand and use the Track Changes feature in Word
  • Create and apply Styles
  • Understand and work with the Navigation pane
  • Insert and edit Footnotes and Endnotes

  • The course will be taught using Word 365 on a Windows computer, but will also be suitable for Word 2016/2019 users. Apple Mac users should also find it useful.
