There will be the opportunity to ask questions, share ideas for potential new CoPs and learn more about this exciting new area of development in the University.
A series of 30 minute drop-in sessions to talk with one of the Continuous Improvement team. We offer expert, impartial advice relating all things process improvement and want to support our colleagues on their own continuous improvement journeys.
Please note, these sessions are informal, 1-2-1 meetings where colleagues can ask for advice and guidance from the team. These are not workshops or taught sessions.
The team will be available 9-10 and 4-5 every Tuesday and Friday - each hour can be split into two sessions of 30 minutes depending on demand.

The EA/PA Community of Practice is a safe and confidential space where colleagues in similar roles from across the collegiate university can meet up, ask for guidance and support one another.
To launch the Community of Practice, we are excited to be hosting our first online event to celebrate the CoP, hear from the Co-Leads, meet colleagues and more!
This interactive course is complementary to other courses within the Continuous Improvement theme and is designed to give delegates the knowledge and tools to;

Throughout our careers we spend much of our time working in teams. Teams that are fluid and cross-functional with frequent change and people often working in different places and spaces. For teams to be high performing they need to develop high trust. A high trust team is one where there is respect, people are comfortable to be themselves and challenge each other, and where the whole adds up to more than the sum of the parts. In this session, we explore the key contributors to creating and sustaining a high trust team.

The Project Management Community of Practice are looking to help support the Research Programme/Project Management (RPM) community. There are certainly overlaps in ways both communities work but RPM requires a specific set of skills, interacting with a complex set of stakeholders and needing a vast array of different skills to bring to the role.
In this session we are looking to bring together the RPM community from across the university to discover where RPMs are within the university, and to discuss what support for the community we in the PM CoP should be bringing together.

A short introduction to De Bono's Six Thinking Hats - a creative thinking tool for creative meetings.
Have you ever wished you could get 10 minutes with a senior colleague to ask their advice on how they would handle something? Have you ever wondered how others approach challenging problems? This is your opportunity to ask. We are bringing together a panel of very experienced colleagues from across the University for a special speed mentoring session so that they can offer you their support and advice.
Speed mentoring offers you the opportunity for a series of short, focused conversations about a specific question or issue you are struggling with. You will rotate around four different mentors, spending around 10 minutes with each, to gain different perspectives on an issue you are seeking to resolve or a project you are trying to progress.
"I liked that there were a diverse background of university staff involved in the session, and all of the mentors were really engaged and enthusiastic. I felt that I could be honest about some of my experiences in the University, good and bad. You've heard of a book group, but how about one for podcasts? In these sessions we will focus on a different episode from the wonderful Squiggly Careers Amazing If podcasts, which includes over 300 episodes on career based topics ranging from coaching and confidence, to strength and values.
Before each session you will be sent a link to a podcast episode to listen to and reflect upon. During the session you will be led through a selection of tasks/exercises recommended in the episode Pod Sheet. You will have the opportunity to work on these individually and then reflect back as a group.
