UIS' Aspiring Line Managers Programme
New

Tue 14 Nov, Tue 28 Nov 2023

Description

The Aspiring Managers Programme provides a structured pathway for colleagues preparing for their first supervisory/line management roles. It fosters the development of crucial skills, including effective feedback, handling challenging conversations, and utilizing leadership styles. The programme incorporates facilitators' input; opportunities for discussion, case studies, reflection, and sharing good practice with others moving into similar roles. It also includes curated e-learning resources to support colleagues' ongoing learning and development.

Participants are required to attend both half-day sessions.

Target audience

This programme is designed exclusively for UIS colleagues who have not yet assumed their first-line manager roles but aspire to advance their careers in that direction.

Participants are encouraged to have a prior discussion with their respective line managers, as their support and allocation of time for on-the-job learning activities will be essential.

Prerequisites

Before attending, please take some time to review the short Leadership Essentials - Management Responsibilities films of other University colleagues talking about their roles as a manager.

Attend a 1:1 Coaching session with Rinku Raina before the programme.
