'Made in Dagenham' Film Screening + Q&A
New

Sun 13 Mar 2011

Description

As part of the celebrations marking International Women’s Day (8th March) the Women’s Staff Network of the University of Cambridge is hosting a screening of this recently acclaimed film, followed by a Q&A session.

'Made in Dagenham' relates to the issue of equal pay for women, being based on the strike in 1968 at the Ford motor plant in which female staff went on strike for equal pay. The post screening discussion will consider ‘How far have we come?’.

Guests include Dr Jude Browne, Director of the Cambridge Centre for Gender Studies, Professor Mary Davis, labour historian and former Deputy-Director of the Working Lives Research Institute and Dr Sadie Wearing, Lecturer, Gender Theory, Culture and Media, London School of Economics and Political Science.
