SCM Staff Autism In The Workplace Training

Self-taught course

Description

This training, developed by the National Autistic Society, is designed to help you better understand autism and how to create a more inclusive, supportive workplace for autistic colleagues. It starts with a short pre-module assessment. This is not a test, just a way to check your current level of knowledge.

The module includes perspectives from autistic people themselves, offering insight into how autism is defined and experienced. It helps learners recognise both the strengths and challenges that many autistic people face, and how we can respond in ways that create enabling and supportive environments.

The training covers:

• What autism is and how it presents differently in different people

• Common barriers autistic employees may encounter

• Practical adjustments and strategies that can make a real difference

• Tips for inclusive communication and supporting wellbeing

At the end, there is a post-module assessment to reflect on what you have learned and how you might apply it in your role.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Erin Cressy or Karin Jonkers on CSEDI@admin.cam.ac.uk

Once the training has been completed, please email Erin at CSEDI@admin.cam.ac.uk to request a certificate.
