GL: General Ledger Reporting Prerequisites
This course enables users to learn what reports are available and how to use them when managing departmental funds.
You will also have the opportunity to look at your department's accounts in the PLAY or LIVE system. You are invited to bring with you any reference documents that you may have detailing your own departmental codes and there will be an opportunity to clarify with the course leaders particular areas of interest.
Departmental accounts staff and those responsible for managing departmental finances.
- Must have already attended New User General Ledger
- Must have a LIVE GL Responsibility
- There will be pre-course work to complete before attending this course

- Generate and discuss the standard reports required for monitoring departmental finances
- Look at common items that appear on reports and what they mean
- Study and discuss the significance of positive/negative and debit/credit values
- Cancel reports that you have set to run
- Re-print and copy reports quickly
- Export reports into Microsoft Excel
- Discuss some of the common mistakes to look out for when reviewing departmental accounts
To run various reports to monitor departmental accounts and interpret the data.
The session will be a mixture of presentation, demonstrations and hands on practice.
