PIs: Working Effectively with your Postdoc New
So, you’ve recruited a new postdoc – now, what can you do to you ensure you work effectively together, support their work, align your plans, help them to develop and utilise their skills, establish a sense of wellbeing (yours and theirs)? What are your responsibilities in this area, what happens if things go off track, who can help? With guest PIs, including Professor Judy Hirst, this short live session will explore these questions and consider the key skills and knowledge to achieve an effective and productive working relationship and achieve the project goals together. It will also signpost you to resources and further opportunities to build your skills in this area.

- To understand your responsibilities, and that of your postdoc, whilst working together to achieve the research objectives
- To identify key skills and knowledge to support this area of your role
- To know where to find further support and guidance
This will be delivered as a live session, with input and conversation between the presenters. There will be an opportunity to ask questions anonymously. The session will be recorded and accessible to others in the University.
