Radiation Protection Supervisors (Unsealed Sources): An Introductory Training Course


Description

In association with the East Anglian Regional Radiation Protection Service (Addenbrooke’s Hospital), the Safety Office presents this annual course covering the core competencies for RPSs as published by the Health and Safety Executive. The total course duration is approximately 2 days and includes the following:

  • Part A: Watching pre-recorded presentations and videos (approximately 7.5 hours) in advance of the live session.
  • Part B: Participating in a one day session on 29 June.
Target audience
  • Radiation Protection Supervisors and potential Radiation Protection Supervisors in the University and elsewhere
  • Further details regarding OHSS’ eligibility criteria are available
Objectives

To train RPSs to the standards set out in the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 and under the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016 (18) and other relevant legislation.

Format

Online presentations, workshops and practical exercises.

Charging

If eligible Non-University participants, including college staff are charged £28 each day per participant, see charging for further information.

Duration

7.5 hours of pre-recorded presentations and videos to be watched via Moodle in advance of attending one full day of in-person training.
