Leadership Advanced: The Dynamics of Leadership and Engaging Others
This two part interactive workshop offers those with some experience of leading and managing others the opportunity to extend their knowledge in relation to leadership and engagement of others. It will provide time to reflect on leadership values, beliefs, attitudes and style and the impact this has on leadership performance. The workshop will also explore how to motivate and engage others to achieve their full potential.

Session 1: The Dynamics of Leadership
- to consider some key approaches to leadership
- to explore your leadership style and the critical role of communication in leadership
- to evaluate the implications of personal and organisational values on leadership performance
- to assess the impact of formal/informal organisational structures on the leadership role
Session 2: Engaging Others
- to understand the benefits of staff engagement
- to assess the impact of organisational culture and structure on engagement
- to recognise the differences between satisfaction, motivation and engagement
- to explore models of motivation & engagement
- to consider techniques to establish levels of commitment and create positive relationships with team members
If you are new to a management role, you may wish to consider applying to undertake the Level 3 Award (ILM) in First Line Management or Leadership Essentials before attending this workshop
