Lean Practitioner Course (LCS 1b)

• The course provides an LCS accredited Lean Practitioner qualification. The course involves a 2-day training session followed by completion of a project. Two cohort catch up sessions will take place during the 2 month period following the course to allow delegates to consolidate their knowledge and discuss their projects in a safe space. The first cohort catch up is planned to take place on Thursday 26th March from 9:30am - 12:30pm in Greenwich House. The second cohort catch up will be arranged nearer the time.

• Staff who have attended the Introduction to Lean in HE: Making Improvements in the Workplace (https://www.training.cam.ac.uk/ourcambridge/theme?providerId=2944867&shortName=businessimprove&self_taught=false&unscheduled=false) course and passed the assessment
• Further details regarding eligibility criteria are available

• In order to gain a place on the course the following criteria will apply
  • Staff member who has attended the Introduction to Lean in HE - Making Improvements in the Workplace course
  • Completion of an open-book "LCS1a" on-line test (this will then provide LCS1a accreditation).
  • Candidates who attended the Introduction to Lean Course prior to March 2020 will be offered a short bridging course in order to support completion of the LCS1a assessment
  • Commitment to attend on the specified dates including two cohort catch ups

Within this course you will:

• Undertake activities to explore customer and stakeholder value, demand and the ‘voice of the customer’​
• Analyse a process/value stream through the application of mapping and other diagnostic techniques​
• Explore and understand basic data gathering and statistical techniques to help diagnose and solve problems ​
• Use problem-solving techniques to identify and define problems and issues and improve processes and quality​
• Understand how to implement quick wins and plan and communicate the recommendations for further improvement​
