All Cambridge Research Office courses

Integrity and ethics are core to the requirements of being a research leader, producing excellent research and helping others do the same. This session will, through a mixture of presentation, discussion and case studies, explore the University's expectations as regards ethics and integrity and how research leaders can apply them in their own work and support their teams and colleagues to meet the highest standards.

The course will explore issues of research integrity and misconduct, examine the challenges posed by authorship and provide an introduction to the University's approach to handling research ethics.

The course will be delivered by the Research Governance and Integrity Team in the Research Strategy Office.

The key points are as follows:

• Research Professional (RP) and funding opportunities (how to use RP, how RF Team use it and annotate it)
• Restricted calls policy and process
• PVC and VC support letters policy
• Brief intro to other areas of responsibility and activity (institutional funding grants, funder relations, etc.).

This is a follow up Question and Answer session to an introductory video on risk management in your research. This is an opportunity to ask questions raised by the video presentation or discuss any cases or scenarios you are currently working on.

The discussion can cover:

• Risks associated with your research project and how to manage them;
• How your research project impacts the University finances;
• The role of the Research Office and different parties therein and available support.

A half day workshop providing core knowledge around stress, mental health, resilience and self-care, and tips and activities to embed these skills.

• Introduction to the data Research Information Team hold on research outputs and their provenance
• Introduction to the tools that can be used with them
• Outlining the types of insight/intelligence that can be gathered from this activity
• Opportunity to explore with the trainer what sort of data/insight/intelligence would help you in your work to help inform future direction of travel

This session is designed for those from the Dept. of Engineering who have attended a Worktribe training session and would like a refresher of the system. In the session staff will also be shown the reporting functionality in Worktribe, update on processes and PI access/ perspective within the system.
