CULP: Academic Reading in Italian for Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences Researchers (Intermediate 1)


Description

Using close reading and translation of academic texts from their particular discipline, this weekly class is intended to help research students in the Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences to develop their skills in reading Italian documents that they have come across or may meet in their research.

Students are encouraged to bring along their own texts and work in pairs to enhance the learning experience.

Prerequisites

N.B. This group is likely to be small and the overall level the course will operate at (basic/intermediate) will depend upon the language proficiency and interest of the students.

Aims

Develop strategies for reading longer texts faster through close analysis, grammatical, stylistic commentary, and translation.
