Music: How To Find Literature about Music

Description

Are you about to embark on an essay, dissertation, or piece of extended research? Before you start any academic work, it is necessary to have a sound grasp of your topic and its context. This session will give you strategies for finding and evaluating published literature so you can get a 'big picture' view of your topic. This is a taught session which will end with a further 15 minutes of searching in your own time (with help at hand, if needed).

Target audience
  • All University members (this includes colleges and departments)
  • UL Readers with an interest in this field
  • Further details regarding Cambridge University Library's eligibility criteria are available
Prerequisites
  • Familiarity with online resources, including the Newton catalogue and ordinary search engines
  • You should bring an essay question, or a research topic area with you to the session
