This briefing session will provide more information about the Navigator programme, which will start in Lent term. The programme encourages you to explore your future in a practical way and to develop your potential. There is a strong emphasis on personal input and reflection. You will be required to undertake two to three hours of independent work a week.

This session will provide staff with an overview of the Disclosure and Barring Service and how to request criminal record checks for eligible roles within the University.

Equality and Diversity Essentials CANCELLED 14:00 - 16:30 Disability Resource Centre, Bridget's Meeting Room


A bespoke training workshop for staff and colleagues. The aim is to provide a basic background in equalities law and good practice in relation to equality and diversity in the workplace. This workshop provides an introduction to what equality and diversity means individually, personally or professionally. It provides knowledge on basic principles and concepts, relevant legislation and the University's policies and procedures.

After completing the workshop you will be able to understand the principles behind equality and diversity legislation, including the new Equality Act 2010, and the implications of breaching it. The workshop will also consider a range of ways in which individuals can help break down barriers to equality and provide useful information about what to do if you feel you are being discriminated against or treated unfairly at the University.
