UIS Staff Summer Garden Gathering
New

Thu 9 Sep 2021

Description

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other in person and as the pandemic restrictions are easing, we’d like to celebrate the end of the summer with an informal outdoor gathering at Fitzwilliam College Grove and Chapel Lawn.

Afternoon tea style food, individually boxed to include:

  • Freshly made white and wholemeal bread finger sandwiches (variety of vegan, vegetarian, fish and meat fillings)
  • Meat and vegan sausage rolls
  • Fruit and plain scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam (vegan scones with cream can be provided on request)
  • Mini choux buns
  • Victoria sponge
  • Mini tray baked cakes
  • Juice

Followed by tea and coffee

An outdoor bar is also available to purchase a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks

Target audience

UIS staff only

Prerequisites

If possible, please bring a face covering for accessing indoor areas. We also recommend self-testing with a lateral flow test to keep everyone safe and provide extra reassurance while socialising. Safety measures

Social distancing on arrival

There’s a large, gated entrance from Storey’s way, please keep your distance and avoid overcrowding the entrance.

Garden set-up

There’s plenty of space on the College lawn and grounds for you to relax and catch-up with your colleagues. There will be some covered areas to shelter if the weather is not on our side.

Face coverings and tests

We recommend bringing a face covering for any indoor areas you may need to access such as the toilets. If you’re able to do a lateral flow test before coming, this would provide extra reassurance for all.

Fitzwilliam College safety guidance The College also has its own safety measures in place, please read the information on the webpage: https://www.fitz-events.com/covid-19-information

Parking

Sorry, there is no parking available at Fitzwilliam College. There is limited street car parking available along Storey's Way by the College entrance.

Staff with existing parking permits for the West Cambridge site are encouraged to park at the front of the Roger Needham Building (the William Gates Building car park with barriers).

Those without permits are welcome to park behind the Roger Needham Building. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the College.

Important notice: no access to Roger Needham Building

Please note that if you park at the Roger Needham Building you must not expect to enter the building unless you would normally be working there.
