  • An introduction to using the bibliography program EndNote to store references and notes and use them to achieve correct referencing in your documents without re-typing. This course covers EndNote Desktop which is available free to members of Cambridge University via the Academia website
  • The course will consist of a demonstration, followed by a practical session working through the course handout. If you are unable to install EndNote before the course then you will not be able to do the practical but you should still find the demonstration useful and can try the practical later in your own time.
  • Using EndNote will enable you to keep a note of references as you research online so that you will always be able to document your sources correctly. It can save you time as you should never need to retype references and you can alter their layout with a couple of mouse-clicks.

New to online collaboration? This course aims to take the mystery out of managing your files online, syncing these to your computer and introduces a few useful functions that you may not have discovered.

  • Learn various online file management techniques and understand SharePoint storage
  • Use the assistive technologies within Teams
  • Gain a few tips to speed your work

This is an online instructor-led course to help you get to grips with word processing basics using Microsoft Word. It will be taught in a small group and no previous knowledge is assumed. Following on, we offer further courses that build on these fundamentals to extend your skills including Skills for Document Layout.

For those who prefer to self-study there is an online course from LinkedIn Learning, the course can be accessed here for Mac and for Windows users. Sign in with your @cam.ac.uk email and Raven password.

This course is mainly aimed at students writing their thesis but is also suitable for staff who need to write a long document. It is designed to give an insight and hands on practice into the more advanced features of Microsoft Word that are relevant to producing substantial reports.

Need to get up to speed with Teams? Then join us in this friendly, slow-paced, introductory session to learn how to get up and running. This is Part 1 of 4 courses that provide you the opportunity to get a hands on and in-depth insight into Teams. If you prefer a quick overview of Teams then consider joining the Fast Track course instead. You will:

This 1:1 workshop is for those with a specific questions about using Microsoft Office, Teams or SharePoint. We will work with you using your files to explore if we can answer questions or suggest a more efficient way to achieve results.

When you book in the Special Requirements field, please enter a description of what you want to discuss and, if relevant, have a copy of your own files available so we can test some ideas. Please anonymise the data if it is sensitive or personal.

Join us for this 1.5 hour workshop to learn how to get hands on creating and managing breakout rooms in your Teams meetings.
