Answering your literature search and referencing questions (for Part II students in Genetics only)

Description

These 30 minute small group sessions are an opportunity for you to obtain support for searching databases and using referencing software. General advice and support will be offered, and any specific queries will be addressed.

Target audience

Part II Genetics students

Prerequisites

Must be a Genetics Part II student undertaking a dissertation or project. Attendees must bring their own laptop or tablet.

Aims

This course will enable you to get hands-on support in the following areas:

  • Selecting appropriate databases for your literature search
  • Constructing an effective search strategy, and inputting it into selected databases
  • Use of referencing software such as Mendeley, Endnote or Zotero
