Risk Assessment of Genetically Modified Microorganisms
Are you actively involved in genetic modification risk assessment? This is a practical course designed to help you with this work. As part of the course you will look at the legal background and duties under GM legislation, consider the biological concepts required, and carry out risk assessments for GM projects using the University forms.

Presentations and group exercise
This course will be delivered by Dr Kefford Tibbles who is the Clinical School Safety Officer, a member of the Biological Safety Sub-committee and previously an HSE Inspector for GM work. Dr Androulla Gilliland is a Biological Safety Officer based in the Safety Office, previously a GM regulator for Defra.
