University Student Complaint Procedure workshop (revised procedure from 1 October 2024 onwards) New
This session provides an overview of the revised Student Complaint Procedure, new from 1 October 2024 onwards.
This session relates to complaints from students about the University - e.g. courses of study, including PhD supervision; staff behaviour; quality of service; implementing reasonable adjustments.
Topics to be discussed will include:
- revisions to the Student Complaint Procedure - how to prevent student complaints - how to respond to student complaints at a local (department or service) level - how to respond to a formal student complaint - appropriate remedies for student complaints - how to support students who wish to make a complaint
The session will include a case study and discussion.
All University staff who are involved with student matters, particularly staff who handle informal complaints within their department or service (Responsible Officers in the Student Complaint Procedure) and those who support students during their time at the University.
