Description

This workshop is provided jointly by the Disability Resource Centre and the University Counselling Service and will provide support and information about ways to engage with students while working remotely. With a focus on practical solutions, the important of self care and information about the wide range of services available. This workshop is open to staff whose role formally includes welfare, likely to be tutors, nurses and chaplains.

Target audience
  • Staff with a clear welfare role or element to their role

Aims
  • To consider your own resources and boundary issues when remotely supporting distressed students
  • To explore new ways of communicating with students working remotely, who may be challenging or difficult to engage
  • To feel more confident in the above situations
  • To confirm your knowledge of sources of local support
