Postdoc Academy Workshop: How to be a great peer reviewer - everything editors want you to know NewSpecial
Whether you have recently started peer reviewing, are ready to get involved, or just want to hone your peer review skills, this session will have something for you.
A knowledgeable publishing editor from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) will walk you through the peer review process and provide you with a range of tips and best practices that will apply across a range of disciplines.
During this session, you will learn:
- the benefits of acting as a reviewer
- how to write high-quality reviewer reports useful for the editor and authors
- ethical considerations in peer review
- how to sign up to become a reviewer for the RSC.

In-person workshop
This workshop will be facilitated by Brian Li, Publishing Editor - Journals, Royal Society of Chemistry.
Brian works across a portfolio of RSC Materials & Nano journals (Journal of Materials Chemistry A, B, C, Nanoscale, Materials Horizons, Nanoscale Horizons). He manages peer review and carries out the assessment of articles submitted for publication to agreed standards, including initial assessment, the selection of reviewers, evaluating their comments, and making decisions on acceptance, transfer, or rejection.
