This course introduces NST Chemistry Part IBa, IBb, II, and III undergraduates to the Department of Chemistry Library and its place within the wider Cambridge University Library system. It provides general information on what is available, where it is and how to get it. Print and electronic resources are included.

Chemistry library orientation
Following attendance at this session you will be able to:
- Access full-text online journals, ebooks and electronic databases via ejournals@cambridge and ebooks@cambridge
- Search for books and periodicals using the online University of Cambridge library catalogue, LibrarySearch.
- Interpret results.
- Locate subscribed literature and chemical databases e.g. Web of Science, Scopus, SciFinder, Reaxys.
- Use library catalogue request, renewal and other account functions.
- Set up a borrowing account and use the Chemistry Library self-issue machine to borrow and return books.
- Locate print resources in the Chemistry Library and other libraries within the Cambridge Library system.
- Scan, print and photocopy items using the Library's IT facilities.
