Legionella Awareness Training (TG2)

Description

This is a City and Guilds accredited course which will provide delegates with a basic understanding of legionella awareness, the risks and the legal requirements under the Approved Code of Practice Legionnaires' disease. The control of legionella bacteria in water systems 2013.

Target audience

University departmental staff only - Those who undertake activities on systems containing water.

Objectives

Having attended the course delegates should:

  • Understand the basic legal requirements in order to comply with HSG 274 and Approved Code of Practice(L8)
  • Understand how Water Safety is managed within the University of Cambridge Operational Estate
  • Understand the responsibilities placed upon departments in respect of Water Safety
  • Understand the health hazards and risks relating to legionella and what precautions need to be taken
  • Have an insight into how legionella proliferates
  • Have an understanding of the types of control employed to reduce

  • Delegates will receive a comprehensive training pack.
  • There will be a short multi-choice test at the end of the course. Delegates who successfully complete the training will be issued with a certificate.
