Description

Learn how to search databases effectively, and cite references correctly using citation software. Get the most out of your literature search for your projects.

Target audience

Part II students in the Pathology and Pharmacology departments only.

Prerequisites

Must be a Pathology or Pharmacology Part II student undertaking a project. Attendees must bring their own laptop or tablet. Dissertation students who want extra support should book a place on one of the dissertation drop in sessions.

Aims

This course will address:

*  how to clarify the question (or perhaps questions) on which you need to find literature
*  selecting the databases and other resources you will need to search
*  management of references (using software such as Endnote Online), and getting hold of the full text article

Presentations, demonstrations and practicals.

One session of two hours.
