English: Speaking Skills: Practising your presentations in English
The face-to-face element of this course has been cancelled, but if you are a member of CUED interested in learning more about presentation skills or wish to practise your own presentations and obtain feedback, online individual supervisions are available. Please email Sheila Dodds to make appointments.
This course is intended for non-native speakers who wish to practise giving presentations in English. There will be frequent opportunities throughout the course for participants to present their work individually.

- Common areas of difficulty for non-native speakers
- Pronunciation, particularly focusing on field specific terms
- Vocabulary for effective presentations
- Cultural differences in presentation styles
- The language of question and answer sessions and seminars
To provide opportunities for you to practise the language needed to give effective presentations in English. The course will help you to build your confidence by providing opportunities for you to give short presentations to the rest of the group.
Class work and individual study
Signing up for a course requires commitment for the full course. If you fail to attend the first workshop of the course and do not email your reason for not attending, your name will be removed from the attendance list without notice to make space for those on the waiting list.
