Courageous Conversations

Thu 23 Nov 2023

We all have challenging conversations from time to time that we dread. Wishing it would go away rarely works. Having a clear strategy can make all the difference. This workshop is designed to give you the skills and confidence to have a meaningful, productive conversation at work.

This 90 minute scenario-based training, incorporating forum theatre, aims to entertain and inform. You will be watching a live work based conversation and have the opportunity to give feedback and interact with the ‘characters’ to understand and develop a positive outcome. By the end of this webinar you will have a better understanding of how a difficult conversation can go wrong and how to put it right.

We will explore how the best intentions can sometimes go wrong. We will help you build a solid technique to get it right.

Target audience

This workshop has been designed to help anyone who has responsibility for others and may sometimes have to have challenging conversations.

About the presenters

Clare Beck has been a leadership development consultant for over 20 years and has worked extensively in both the public and private sector as an impact and business coach and facilitator and has worked with Talking Shop training for many years.

A large part of her work is enabling the safe practice of courageous conversations, either one to one or in small groups. Her approach is to find a balance between appreciation and challenge to enable leaders to make small changes that make a big difference.

Stewart Theobald trained as an actor before working as an account manager for BT. He then retrained as a voice coach and set up Talking Shop Training in 1992. He has worked for international organisations, educational bodies and individuals from the public and private sector including university lecturers to engage their audience and deliver their message with confidence and clarity.

Stewart provides in-house training and coaching in public speaking, voice projection, impact and leadership skills. He has worked with the University of Cambridge for over 25 years on a variety of topics.
