Aims
  • to engage with and support the aims of the University’s Technician Commitment Action Plan
  • to network with other technicians from across the University
  • to hear from a variety of speakers who are advocates of technicians
About the presenters

Professor David Cardwell, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Strategy and Planning, has taken on the role of ‘Technician Champion’, recognising the fundamental contribution technicians make to the output of the University, by supporting all aspects of teaching and research.

Kelly Vere, Higher Education Engagement Manager & Technician Commitment Lead, leading on the Science Council’s work with the Higher Education sector to promote a professional identity for scientists and technicians.

Dr Kate Maxwell, Overall Programme Lead for ourcambridge, the ultimate goal of which is to support professional services staff to feel valued, work in a satisfying environment and have equal opportunities for development.

Technician Commitment Working Group members will facilitate breakout sessions to discuss their career progression routes and their roles and responsibilities in ‘Day in the Life’ conversations.
