Cambridge has long been conscious of attainment gaps in examinations outcomes for diversity groups, in particular when considering the proportion of those who receive Firsts or Good Honours degree. The University’s Exam Results Analytics dashboard now provides a data source to identify where attainment gaps occur across courses and triposes. In order to support Departments, Faculties and Colleges to understand the reasons for any identified attainment gaps in their local contexts, and to find ways to address them, we are developing a ‘Mind the Gap’ Guide that will go step by step through the process of collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data, links to useful research articles and case studies, with examples of educational interventions to help reduce identified attainment gaps through assessment, curriculum or student support. This webinar provides an opportunity for participants to share their experiences in addressing attainment gaps, to share their thoughts about effective and sustainable educational interventions, and to inform or contribute to the development of the Guide. This session will be on line via Zoom |
