Description

This self-taught hands-on course gives a quick introduction to the Vi text editor, a widely available text editor for Unix (and other) systems.

Target audience
  • All current Cambridge University members (departments and colleges)

Prerequisites

Basic computer skills i.e. familiarity with using a keyboard and mouse. The course is aimed at beginners - no previous knowledge or experience of this software is assumed.

Vi Editor on MCS Linux If you are working on a MCS computer you may need to reboot the machine and select the option to boot into the Linux operating system
