Microsoft IT Academy: Course 10516: Business Continuity in Microsoft SharePoint 2010

This two-hour course provides you with the knowledge of business continuity management to ensure that a SharePoint 2010 server is continuously available during a disaster or hardware disruption.

This course helps you prepare for the Exam 70-667 TS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Configuring.

• All current Cambridge University members (departments and colleges)
• Further details regarding eligibility criteria are available

• An experience of at least 12 months in deployment and management of SharePoint solutions.
• An experience of at least 12 months in working with Windows Server 2008 Server, Internet Information Services (IIS) and networking infrastructure services, such as DNS and Active Directory.
• An experience of working with Windows PowerShell.

This course covers the following topics:

• Concepts of business continuity management
• High availability in SharePoint Server 2010
• Backup and restore processes in SharePoint Server 2010
• Farm and granular backup and restore

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Describe business continuity management.
• Explain high availability in SharePoint 2010.
• Explain the key aspects of backup and restore processes in SharePoint 2010.
• Explain farm backup and restore.
• Explain granular backup and restore.

Self-taught online

To view this course, you need:

• A Pentium II, 256 MB RAM with a processor speed greater than or equal to 400 MHZ
• Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or higher
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Macromedia Flash 7.0 or higher (1MB disk space needed to install)
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
• A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
• A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
• Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.

For courses containing Virtual Server-based labs (courses in the IT Professional and Developer Catalog), you will need:

• Microsoft Virtual Server ActiveX control (1MB disk space needed to install)

The following software must be running on your computer in order to access this course with Screen Reader Software:

• MSAA enabled
