PowerPoint 2007/2010: Quick Start for Beginners (Self-paced) BeginnersPrerequisites
This self-paced hands-on course gives a "quick start" introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint which is widely used software for preparing presentations. Participants work at their own pace using a workbook containing notes and exercises, with a demonstrator on hand to help.
Basic computer skills i.e. familiarity with using a keyboard and mouse. No previous knowledge or experience of the software is assumed.
- Creating slides and a slide show
- The various PowerPoint views
- Special slide effects
- Inserting an Excel chart
- Adding speaker's notes
- Audience handouts

PowerPoint 2007 on MCS Windows
- The course will be taught using PowerPoint 2007 on PCs but will also be suitable for PowerPoint 2010 users. Macintosh users of PowerPoint 2011 should also find it useful.
- Being very basic, the course is unsuitable for those who have already attended the PowerPoint Introduction.
- Please bring a memory stick if you wish to take away the exercise files; alternatively they can be downloaded (see below).
- Alternative courses are offered for those preferring more formal instruction; the material is also available as a self-instruction pack which can be purchased from Computing Service Reception.
