Microsoft IT Academy: Course 10296: Beginner Skills in Microsoft Excel 2010 Online
This online course is designed to help you use the Microsoft Excel 2010 interface, commands, and features to present, analyze, and manipulate various types of data.

Learners taking this course must have experience working with Microsoft Windows. They must be familiar with performing basic tasks such as opening a file, formatting text, and saving a file.
It is recommended that the learners complete Course 4697: Introduction to the New Microsoft® Office Fluent™ User Interface before taking this course.

- Setting Excel Options
- Creating a New Workbook
- Adding and Moving Data in a Worksheet
- Formatting Cells and Using Borders and Margins
- Sorting and Filtering Data Lists
- Reviewing a Workbook and Using the Proofing Tools
- Creating and Editing Charts
- Inserting Shapes, Pictures, Clip Art, SmartArt Graphics, WordArt, Screen Shots, and Signature Lines
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Create and edit worksheets
- Format worksheet data
- Insert charts and graphics

To view this course, you need:
- A Pentium II, 256 MB RAM with a processor speed greater than or equal to 400 MHZ
- Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or higher
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
- Macromedia Flash 7.0 or higher (1MB disk space needed to install)
- Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
- Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
- A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
- A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
- Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.
For courses containing Virtual Server-based labs (courses in the IT Professional and Developer Catalog), you will need:
- Microsoft Virtual Server ActiveX control (1MB disk space needed to install)
The following software must be running on your computer in order to access this course with Screen Reader Software:
