GRADschools are designed to help you reflect upon and develop the skills you have as a postgraduate researcher. The courses encourage you to consider how you can apply your skills now and in the future and aim to help you make more informed choices about the next step of your career.

Application process

Applications for GRADschool are processed as follows:

  • In order to ensure fairness and to so that there is a mixture participants from different background and disciplines across all the Schools there is a longer application period.
  • There are ninety six places available on this course and these will be allocated, as far as possible, to ensure the best spread across disciplines and funding sources.
  • If your application is successful, you will be notified by email.
  • If your application is unsuccessful, you will be placed on a waiting list. If no additional places become available, you will be given priority booking for the next GRADschool.

In the vast majority of cases applicants are successful in securing a place, especially when they make an early booking, and I would recommend that you book this time in your calendar if you are still interested in attending the GRADschool.

If you have any general questions regarding GRADschool please refer to the Important Points or the Frequently Asked Questions pages, or contact Researcher Development
