In order for the University to carry out financial transactions involving the acceptance of payment cards (credit and debit) we have to comply with standards as laid down by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Council.

This short, online course will provide users with the information they need to process card payments securely and in accordance with the PCI Security Standards.

This course is mandatory for anyone involved in processing payment card payments and paperwork on behalf of the University.

• Knows what a payment card transaction is and understands the difference between card-present and card-not-present
• Is aware of the risks associated with payment card transactions and the purpose of the PCI Standards in addressing those risks
• Understands the steps necessary to handle a payment card transaction securely (and in accordance with University policy), for any types of transaction they may be involved with.
• Knows what to do if there has been a breach of PCI Standards.
• Knows where to find the University policy on handling payment card transactions and how to access help.

To provide users involved with Card payment transactions with the information necessary to handle transactions in a way compliant with PCI Standards and to ensure that all users understand the importance of remaining compliant.
