AWS Academy: Cloud Computing Architecture (Beta)
PrerequisitesNew

Mon 16 Nov, Mon 23 Nov, ... Mon 14 Dec 2015

Description

AWS Cloud Computing Architecture (Beta) is a one-off beta test of an `AWS Academy' curriculum in which the University has been invited to take part. The course will be given, as an experiment, by two members of the UIS over 5 weeks during the Michaelmas term and may not ever be repeated.

Although not directly relevant to any current or planned UIS service, the content is designed to help students develop technical expertise in cloud computing and prepare them for the AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification exam. The curriculum is taught through e-learning, instructor-led classes, hands-on labs, and project work. The student kit includes course manuals, access to labs, a practice exam, and a discount voucher for the certification exam.

Target audience

Undergraduates or postgraduates considering a career involving cloud computing, or IT supporters interested in acquiring the AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification.

Prerequisites

The course requires a strong foundation in multiple computing, software development, and IT concepts and skills. Students will need to set up the necessary online accounts before the course commences.
