Photoshop: Basic Techniques BeginnersPrerequisites
Adobe Photoshop is the favourite image manipulation and editing tool of the professional graphics industry. It enables scanned-in photographs, pictures and graphics files to be edited and offers a dazzling array of drawing, special effects and filtering tools. Knowing where to start with such a comprehensive and feature-filled package can be daunting. This presentation aims to equip new users with the basics, using live demonstrations throughout.

Due to the practical nature of the course, basic computing skills including competence with using a mouse are essential.

- Image adjustments including Cropping and Rotating
- Retouching colour
- Duplicating and moving parts of the picture
- Merging two pictures into one
- Adding text
- Using special effects filters
Presentations, demonstrations and practicals.
Photoshop v. CS5.5 on MCS Macintosh
- It will be run on Macintoshes; however PC users should have no problems.
- There is a more advanced "Further Techniques" course. Self-teach tutorials on Photoshop, Photoshop for Photographers and Digital Imaging are also available for loan.
